Bedford driving instructors pleased about cycle lane proposals

 In Blog, News

Our driving instructors in Bedford are pleased to hear that we may soon see some changes in Bedford with the proposal of new cycle routes along BromhamRoad. Recently, a group of school girls from Biddenam Upper School submitted a petition to the local council to look at ways for cycle lanes to be implemented in parts of the Bedford Borough. The reason they put the petition together was that they felt riding to school in Biddenham, especially along Bromham Road, could get quite dangerous at times, especially near the double mini roundabouts at the end of Shakespeare Road.
The council has agreed to look in to the proposals to add these cycle lanes, which may include an option of widening the railway bridge on Bromham Road as part of an upgrade to the lines north of Bedford railway station.
Our driving instructors in Bedford agree that these cycle lanes could be useful additions, and would help improve safety in the area for cyclists. We teach a number of students from the Biddenham Upper School, and those roundabouts come up frequently on their Bedford driving lessons, often with the children riding to and from school.
