Bedford driving instructors warning after attack on woman

 In Advice, Blog, News

You may remember a few weeks ago we posted a story about how someone had tried to force their way in to the car of one of our Bedford driving instructors. Well unfortunately, it appears that this was not an isolated incident.
A woman on Poynters Road in Dunstable was leaving the Shell petrol station when a man got in her car and forced her to drive away. She was taken to Tomlinson Avenue, where she was then assaulted. Police are appealing for any witnesses of the incident, or for details about a black 4×4 spotted in the Tomlinson Avenue area. It may also be the case that this man had tried other cars before, with one other woman reporting that she had a similar incident, but her car doors were locked.
The advice from the police to drivers is that you should lock your doors once you are in your vehicle to help prevent these kind of attacks.
Our Bedford driving instructors try to impose upon our students the seriousness of safety in your car during their Bedford driving lessons, and would also offer the advice of locking your doors whilst remaining vigilant. Do not leave valuables on show as these may present targets for would be thieves.
If you do have any information about the attack, please get in contact with Bedfordshire police.
