Changes to the UK test mean interpreters will be banned

 In Blog, News

Driving instructors in Bedford were intrigued this week to hear that there will soon be changes to the UK driving test which will an the use of interpreters for immigrants wishing to take their test. The move comes following a review in to the interpreter system, finding that some interpreters had illegally been assisting candidates by providing them with answers for both their theory test and practical test.
Currently, you are able to take your theory test in no fewer than 19 languages, besides English and Welsh. An interpreter can be used on the driving test to translate instructions from the examiner.
Under the review, 850 test results have been overturned, dating back as far as 2009. Also, 9 interpreters have been banned.
